On September 14, 2022, Constec Engi, Co. signed an agreement with Taylor Devices, Inc. to become our representative in Japan. Constec has been established for over 50 years with 29 branches and over 550 employees. Taylor Devices will continue to provide sales, technical support, and manufacturing with Constec. The team at Constec will seek new domestic opportunities in Japan for fluid viscous dampers for earthquake and wind protection.
Japan is the most seismically active country in the world, with about 1,500 earthquakes annually. Many cause major damage to infrastructure and buildings. Taylor Dampers allow structures to move and absorb the energy from the earthquake allowing structures to have minimal or no damage. For over thirty years engineers have used Taylor Dampers to improve building performance on new building construction and seismic retrofits. Taylor Devices has completed over 780 projects worldwide including 75 projects in Japan.
